Straight from Umbria, "the green heart of Italy" we welcome Valentino Valentini owner of Bocale di Valentini, a tiny state producing some of the best wine in Montefalco and Italy in general.
Umbria is best known for championing the Sagrantino grape, which in the right hands such as those from the Valentini family produce rich and brooding reds with impressive tannins and of exceptional quality.

We will taste a fantastic line up, including a couple of vintages of their Montefalco Sagrantino, the most sought after wine in our last year's Enoteca 100 tasting. Donato will pair this memorable wines with an equally memorable Umbrian feast.

Joining us will be none other than Daniela Mastrobernardino, daughter of Campanian legacy winemaker Walter Mastroberardino.

Terredora di Paolo is one of the leading wineries in Campania, it is the story of a family that is closely linked to its land, its history and its people for generations. Their wines exhibit a distinctive personality due to its unique microclimate full of sunshine and volcanic soils. Since its establishment in 1978, Terredora di Paolo has focused on rediscovering and restoring Campania’s ancient and native varietals such as Aglianico, Piedirosso, Fiano, Greco, Falanghina and Coda di Volpe.

Five generations of Fenocchios’ have been producing wine from their land in Monforte d’Alba since 1894. Claudio is a master at crafting classic Baroli that express the true essence of the Nebbiolo grape. 

Join us and Alice Pressenda, Claudio's niece, this upcoming Wednesday and taste some of the best cru Baroli out there including the sought after Bussia and Villero cru's

We couldn't think of a better way to restart our Winemaker Dinners at Donato Enoteca than by having our dear friend Mario Roagna's winery, Cascina Val del Prete, with us this upcoming April 5th, 2022.

We will have none other than Mario's son, Giovanni Roagna, join us for a tantalizing evening tasting and learning about the Roero appellation, all accompanied by a sumptuous menu by Donato Scotti that captures the essence of Piemonte.

"The Roero, often dwarfed by its more famous neighbors Barolo and Barbaresco, is an Italian wine region that every Italian and Nebbiolo wine lover should know."

It is there, in the Roero, that Cascina Val Del Prete has been a leading grower since 1977, recognized for a commitment to natural farming and for traditional work in the cellar, utilizing techniques such as long maceration. This type of farming and cellar work requires incredible commitment, but the resulting wines achieve another level of detail and age-worthiness that is quite simply lost or minimized with more modern techniques that tend to rush processes along.
