In 1950, Zefiro Pieri fell in love with Montalcino and purchased the property of Piancornello, which consisted of a rural house dating back to the 1700s and the land surrounding it and started to plant his first Brunello vineyards. It is now run by the 4th generation of the family, winemaker Claudio Monaci.
Throughout the years Piancornello has been one of our favorite Brunello's to pour for our guests. They consistently make top quality Brunelli and Rosso year in and year out and are always highly rated.
